Grouchy Like Riley “Still” is the 9th Release from this Austin, TX Based Trio of Veteran Musicians. The second under the Band name “Grouchy Like Riley”.
Bios
Chip has been been a sideman with Austin based songwriters.. including but not limited to: Tish Hinojosa, Bruce and Charlie Robison, Kelly Willis, Radney Foster, Jimmy Lafave, Shelley King, Slaid Cleaves, Sara Hickman and many more.
A brief stint with Raul Malo and the Mavericks got him started on the path to Grouchy Like Riley with Marvin Dykhuis and Danny Britt.
Marvin relocated from Wisconsin to Austin, Texas and soon became a part of the rich music scene. In 1988 he began working with Singer/Songwriter Tish Hinojosa and has been her right hand man, playing on all of her recordings as well as producing and writing.
Marvin has produced, played and sang on many records for Texas Singer/songwriters and groups offering a unique sound to their music. His approach is always welcome in the studio doing movie soundtracks or performing live. From Blues to Bluegrass He’s there with an interesting twist.
Danny grew up in South Central Kentucky. After playing in assorted bands there, He made his way to Austin,Texas. Danny did a couple years touring with Jerry Jeff Walker as his road manager in the late 1980’s. Then later toured opening shows for Jerry Jeff. He began writing and playing his own music as a part of the Austin music scene and by the early 1990s was performing his music locally and Internationally on a regular basis.
Danny has performed around the country on shows with Guy Clark, Jerry Jeff Walker, John McCutcheon, Chris Smither, Bruce Robison, Nina Gerber, Kelly Willis, Chris Wall, Greg Trooper, The Dixie Chicks, and many others.
